Clear visibility of our supply chain allows us to uphold our high standards of Corporate and Social Responsibility.
In a world of increasing global sourcing it is essential for clients to have the first hand understanding and capability in order to ensure that risks are appropriately managed and value optimised for all stakeholders.
Direct sourcing enables a transparency within the supply chain that is not achievable using the traditional, multi level and often semi-opaque processes.
Engagement with vendors allows Carillion to make the decision of who actually supplies our products and also influence how they conduct their business.
On Time Logistics
This is essential in a world where we, our stakeholders and
clients are increasingly concerned about such issues. Carillion
audits every vendor to ensure they meet minimum social and
environmental standards and then engages in a programme of supplier
development and re-audit to ensure that the recommendations and
improvements are taken on board.
Global Sourcing through Carillion provides a level of quality control and audit that is very hard to achieve when sourcing via a multi level supply chain.
Carillion has established an in country Quality Assurance team that helps develop the specifications and standards for the products and then monitors the production and finished orders to confirm product compliance and fit-for-purpose.
Carillion has developed a network of internationally recognised quality partners such as SGS, TUV and Intertek who offer testing and certification services against British and European standards as well as the ability to issue CE marks where appropriate.
This enables us to alighn with our supply chain in order to exchange knowledge and expertise to give Carillion projects and our clients access to directly sourced products.
Carillion has also acquired the globally recognised Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) Certification and is registered under Chain of Custody nr SGSCH-COC-010016.
